Perfect Moment Monday

A Sunday snooze and Perfectly content.

Hosted by Lori at, Perfect Moment Monday is about noticing a perfect moment rather than creating one. Perfect moments can be momentous or ordinary or somewhere in between.

On the last Monday of each month we engage in mindfulness about something that is right with our world. Everyone is welcome to join.

Another Goodbye.. Almost...

I've gotta admit, last week was rough and it feels like nothing is going our way.  1 step forward, 3 back.  Talk about discouraging and completely frustrating.  All we can do is put our heads down, plug forward and put it in God's hands.

When we got home from church yesterday, my eldest doggy Max wasn't doing well.  He could hardly stand, was wobbly when he walked and just plain out of it.  He perked up after a few hours and now back to his old self but it was quite a scare and we're sure the writing is on the wall.  He probably had a mini stroke or seizure.  When I adopted him in 1999 he was between 6 months to a year old so my old guy is pushing 15.  Maxie has had a good, long life but I'm really not ready to say goodbye to my darling old gentleman.

Not by a long shot.

Time has a funny way of clicking by nearly unnoticed.  This was taken in 2001 and seems like yesterday.  Here, Auntie Brenda is meeting Dakota (L - rest in peace, sweet husky) and Maxie (R).  It was the first and only time Max met someone then lifted his leg on them.  Consider yourself special, Bren.. I'm sure you kept that sock as a memento.

This shot taken yesterday in the backyard doing my old man's two favorite things.. soaking up the sunshine and hanging with his mommy.  Damn I love that dog.

SO, of all the crap that has been thrown our way here recently, I'm very grateful to have a little more time with my sweet angel boy.
It could've been an even worse day .. thank God it wasn't.

Snow Day..

So we had some white stuff a few days back..
(there's a Passat & Tahoe in there somewhere, swears)

The kids had a snow day and made the most of it...
(yes, that's a slide and yes, they did play on it)

And the next day, it was back to school on a gorgeous day..
(that's facing the car line.. on the OTHER side of the mid street snow pile)

Have I mentioned yet how much I LOOOVE our wood burning stove?

Happy Adoption Day...

TO US!!!

I can't believe it has already been a year.. feels like 10 years ago and yesterday all wrapped in one.  You both have grown so much since you first came in 2010 and I am so very proud of you both.  How blessed am I God chose you for me?

No words..

Hobo Wanderers...

After hauling a load to our new town and spending a week there, the kids and I are back in CO for a few days.  My home here is now on the market so the cupboards are bare and only some of the furniture remains.  The satellite has been disconnected but WiFi remains (of course!) so at least there's that.  Paper plates, Red Solo cups and plasticware are what we dine with.  So awesome.  I tend to lean toward the hoarder side so having little to none to work with is very strange and frustrating.

If all goes as planned ('cause that's how it always works out, right?  Smile/Nod) the home we have under contract in our new town closes at the end of May.  That means we've only got another month and a half living out of suitcases..  "Only" with an eyeroll.

The good news is I can launder our entire current wardrobe in a mere 2 loads.

A HUGE High5 to BigG for handling all this so well.  Between his demanding job, coordinating our move from here, all the hoop-jumping that goes with the house under contract there, dealing with his own household that is now bursting at the seams with kids and dogs and Drama Mama yours truly trying to start up a business and oh yeah, plan a wedding of some sort, the poor man is spinning beyond words.  Does he lose his cool and get all jiggy?  No (that's me) .. he just presses on with the patience of a Saint.  He seriously earned his angel wings taking on this family.

And then some..
